Investigations Tours have yielded some of the most exciting moments in my nearly two-decades of being involved with these entities. Locations that are quiet on the surface have proven that they bubble to life with activity when we quiet our mouths and allow the spirits to speak for themselves. Paranormal Providence is humming, if you have the patience and awareness to observe.
Ordinary Evidence
We get spirit photos from time to time- a face looking at us through a window, a humanoid shape appearing in a photo when no one was there, odd bars of light and orbs- you know, ghosty stuff. It is exciting and I am always eager to review someone’s pictures.
Investigation Tours open an entirely new door. The use of spirit boxes, EMF readers, REM Pods, dowsing rods, and more provide so many avenues for connection. I’m always skeptically hopeful, but time and time again the results leave me with my jaw hanging open and my brow furrowed.
Conversations with Ghosts
“Where’s Mike?” was the first crackling response through the spirit box. Investigator Deb and I snapped to attention. She played it back on her recorder. Clear as a bell: Where’s Mike? For those who do not know, Mike is the co-founder of the tour. We started this together, teammates throughout the process. After a few years, life took him in other directions and I am now the sole (soul?) owner of the tour. We still chat and you can bet he was my first call after that conversation. “Hi, friend! The ghosts miss you. Please say hello when you are next in town.”
We’ve repeatedly learned how attuned they are to our world. They ask questions, greet people by name, and make relevant comments to our group. “They’re switching, a new woman” via a downloadable EVP app a guest had, just as Ghost Guide Susan and I were trading places so I could pitch in on a story. “Hi, Chloe” to greet a guest (named Chloe) at one stop on an Investigation Tour. We experienced spirit boxes, REM pods, and cat balls going off all at the same time as we had our first chat with a new spirit. She seemed delighted to participate. The activity is unique on every tour, but always intriguing.
Every Ghost is Different
Not all of them appear to be so sentient. Many seem stuck in their time. Do they think we are part of their time? Do they see us as something completely separate? After all these years, I love that I don’t know. I love that I’m still observing, still guessing. It seems they are doing the same- observing us, assessing, trying to figure out what they are and what this all means. Plus or minus a pulse, we aren’t so different😊
